Commentary
Planning for business continuity should be a priority for all organisations considering
the potentially devastating financial
and organisational impact a disaster might have. The effectiveness of a business
continuity strategy and related plans is dependent on:
- Obtaining Board and
management support and commitment, and appropriate funding;
- Formally allocating
and communicating responsibilities for planning, testing, and maintaining
the plan;
- Formally allocating
responsibility to invoke the plan and continuity activities; and
- Building and embedding
a continuity management culture.
